At the moment, violations are sometimes set and sometimes not. This way, neither the client nor the server itself can rely on the information.
The checks for position correctness and move correctness should be layered in a more systematic way. It is pretty ugly right now.

Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
